NIGERIA, THE NEED FOR A SYSTEMIC REVOLUTION*
NIGERIA, THE NEED FOR A SYSTEMIC REVOLUTION*
*NIGERIA, THE NEED FOR A SYSTEMIC REVOLUTION*
As we delve deeper into the political season, it is obvious that political propositions in line with our interest and views will hit crescendo. As we progress, I write to call our attention to the fundamentals.
It hurts to see intellects go from platform to platform to throw tantrums against each other in the name of political sentiments. PDP, APC, ETC may all be the political vehicles driving various candidates and political policies, but not the crux of the problem.
The problem of this country is systemic.
*What is systemic failure?*
Systematic failure is a reproducible type of failure of the system. This is a generic malfunction of the integral organs and cells that make up the system.
•It can also be defined as a manufacturer's error i.e failure from the origin of installation, creation, takeoff or specification.
• Furthermore, it can be defined as an error, that occurs at the deviation from standard modus operandi
Today, our systemic failure has become endemic. Irrespective of political affiliations, we are all steeped deep in this quagmire.
*Way Forward;*
It is unwise to continue to throw blames when we are the the victims of this precarious anathema. You may feel that you are exonerated, but as long as you are either a part or recipient of the policies you are included.
*1. Collective Reforms*
The ENDSARS reform of 2020(eventhough eventually overtaken by thugs and miscreants) was an eye opener of the civil power of the people.
Instead of us forming such alliances for a whollistic reformation, we are barely driving political dissention.
*2. Review the Constitution*
This is self explanatory. 90% of the imbalance and ensuing injustice that accrue in this country, emanated from the details and content of our constitution.
*3. Review our reward/Value System*
The evidence of performance is not a function of political inclination but a product of coherent alignment towards development in line with integrity. We must remodel our core values as a people. As long as financial accumulation is the ultimate prerogative for entitlement and achievement, we would continue to drift with the inclination towards the get-rich-quick-system which eventually cascades into mere criminal tendencies.
*4. Distribution of Power.*
As long as we have individuals who are bigger than the existing institutions, we are still behind schedule. No matter the crime committed in this country, there is always someone who is higher than the prosecuting authorities at whose call, your discharge and acquittal is imminent. What am anomaly.
*5. Decentralization of Power*
Power should not be stuck with either one tier or arm of Government. It is expedient that we decentralize power for the sake of the collective administrative sanity of the Majority by granting functional autonomy where expected.
No matter how long the list of challenges to address, the bottom line is the reformation of the manufacturers manual which demands that we return to the drawing board and address the systemic error that constitutes our foundational failures.
It therefore amounts to mere pettiness and sentiments that a savvy rational mind will rate performance on the bases of political platforms. The party only provides a vehicle.
Let our goal be to reform the systemic decadence of this country that began from 1914 at the amalgamation of a multi faceted religious and cultural contraption into a structurally deficient system called Niger-area.
When we get it right from the top, it is hoped that it will cascade downwards.
This is just a suggestion.
